Living Stones has a dedicated division for customized stone design using our 5 axis CNC with possible sculpturing dimensions up to 140 cm height by 400 cm diameter.
The computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools have revolutionized the machining processes.
In modern CNC systems, end-to-end component design is highly automated using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programs. The programs produce a computer file that is interpreted to extract the commands needed to operate a particular machine via a post-processor, and then loaded into the CNC machines for production. Since any particular component might require the use of a number of different tools-drills, saws, etc., modern machines often combine multiple tools into a single "cell". In other cases, a number of different machines are used with an external controller and human or robotic operators that move the component from machine to machine. In either case, the complex series of steps needed to produce any stone feature is highly automated and produces a part that closely matches the original CAD design.
G-Rex Brembana 5 axis model available in-house is a giant delicate as a feather. G-Rex has 5 interpolated axis, designed and built for offering maximum accuracy, quality and flexibility. The movement and control electronics of the machine are the best in technology. Maximum safety is ensured thanks to the work area access control system. The mobile-bridge structure offers maximum accessibility to the work area. The special configuration of the machine permits monumental elaborations even on whole blocks. The operating unit, equipped with a 30 HP electrospindle, swiveling around the 5 axis, is able to manage automatically a blade up to 625 mm. The bit-tail-stock (lathe) allows the execution of capitals and columns.
Other stone art equipment available in our production are:
