Livingstones SA has a special interest and portfolio record in performing marble designs where conceptual art, cutting edge technology and human factor collectively create what is acclaimed to be “The Stone Art”
Livingstones SA, in an effort to add value to our work, cooperate with John Bizas, the innovative young artist who sculptures “the void” of the stone in its most delicate and elegant nature.
His passion for marble is what made him move to Italy in 2008 - where he still lives and works. He first stayed in Florence for seminars in art and then at Carrara where he got graduated in fine arts at the academy of Carrara, before moving to Pietrasanta to practice his work.
His art deals with the distresses of our community such as environmental disasters, wars, decay of society, etc. This line of skepticism has developed his characteristic style in marble sculptures, which is to use the empty space as material. The void he generates inside and around of the stone gives him the ability to allow the light to gently infiltrate across the interior of the sculpture.
His stone sculptures offer the human eye the opportunity to penetrate the shaped material that lets the viewer to travel between an imaginary world and reality.
